Bio: A Hot Dickens Cider (A Story By Little Dickie Dickens) As a man I was raised in the Northwest territory of the U. S. in Washington State. My family owned a large group of Apple orchards known for our superior apples. During harvest time only the best apples were selected for sale. My father and I decided to take the apples that were not cosmetically perfect and run them through a press and use the juice to make apple cider and bottled it in one gallon jugs. Being known for our superior apples our cider also became a favorite among the locals. Our orchards were located along a major highway where we ran an open air market selling our apples and cider. I decided it would be a good idea if we would keep a a black caldron filled with cider steeping over the fire behind the register. A glass of cider was given to everyone after making their purchase. Spiced with just the right amount of cinnamon it proved to be irresistable. In late October when the air is brisk and the harvest was at its peak our open air market would be packed with women. When all the husbands had left for work and the were off to school the women would come to our open air market to buy Dickens apples and cider. My father and I would work feverishly to take care of all these women as they stood there smiling and holding their jugs. Just waiting to get a "HOTDICKENSCIDER".
